Meet our friendly Team, Over the next few weeks we will be adding our complete team so keep checking back for regular updates.

Nicola Beal

Director/Registered Manager

Nicola is the Registered Manager, Responsible Individual and one of the Directors of the company. Nicola is involved in every aspect of developing the service. Nicola works full time in the business and works hard to ensure that the company standards are maintained. Nicola has worked in various roles within the Health & Social Care sector over 25 years, including Mental Health, Nursing, Social Care and Children’s Services. Nicola enjoys spending time with her friends and her large family, walking the dogs and enjoying the outdoors.

Janet Powell


Janet is one of the Directors and was fully involved in the vision, mission, development and growth of the business. Janet has worked in the Health & Social Care sector for most of her adult life. She has worked in various managerial roles and thoroughly enjoys being part of the Support at Home team. It was Janet’s experience of working in Domiciliary care that was the inspiration behind this family run business. Janet has now retired and enjoys spending time with the family, her children, grand-children and great grand-children. Janet also enjoys arts and crafts, walking and spending time with her husband, Brian.

Brian Powell


Brian is the Finance Manager and one of Directors of the business. Brian was in the army (REME) for many years before pursuing a career in P.C.I.T during which he progressed to Managerial and Tech Support positions. Brian’s experience lends itself well to his role within the company, which includes managing the accounts, invoicing and all other aspects of IT support. Brian is a keen reader and enjoys fishing, sea angling, cruising and spending time with his wife Janet, and their large extended family.

Wayne Beal

Director / Finance & IT

Wayne is the Payroll Manager and one of the Directors of the company. Wayne’s role also involves managing the mobile phones and software development. Wayne enjoys walks, holidays, being outdoors, spending time with friends and family and walking the dogs Chase & Bear

Kerry Powell

Office Administrator

Kerry has been working in administration for three years. This includes the newsletter, PassSystem(digital care notes) and general office work. Kerry moved up from Reading three years ago and joined the family business.

Andrea Dodson

Care Manager

Andrea is the Care Manager and has worked for Support at Home since it was established in 2011. Andrea has an Honours degree in Business Management and has recently achieved her Level 5 Care Managers Award in Health & Social Care. Andrea is very passionate about providing the highest possible standard of care to all of our clients. Andrea enjoys spending time with her friends and family and going on holidays.

Lena O'Toole

Care Co-ordinator

Lena has a Diploma in Health & Social care. Lena also has her End of Life certificate. Lena has worked at Support at Home since it was established and is a very dedicated member of the team. Lena has worked in the care sector for most of her adult life and always strives to provide the best possible level of service.

Michelle Unsworth

Care Manager

Michelle has worked in Social Care since 2012, with previous roles including a Client Liaison Manager in a company dealing with the funds of vulnerable adults and Project Officer in a hostel for homeless families. Michelle has got her NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care, and enjoys learning new skills to bring to her role.

Office Dog

Cuddle Officer

This is Chase, The office dog. He is a giant labradoodle, he loves cuddles, playing with his squeeky ball and lots of walks. He also answers to Super Dog, which is what he is called by our young son.

Shirley Lloyd

Office Administrator

I’m Shirley and I’m the Business Administrator. Throughout my career, I have worked in Healthcare and performed various Administrator roles. My passion is in Admin and I am happiest when supporting the team and keeping the databases up to date. I live with my husband Richard and our pet cats, who we absolutely love! I enjoy socialising and spending time with friends and family. I also thoroughly enjoy going on holiday with Richard and visiting different countries.

Joanne Benson

Recruitment and Training

I currently work for Support at Home as the Recruitment and Training coordinator. This involves hiring new recruits to fill open positions within the company. I manage, design, develop, coordinate and conduct all training programs. I identify training needs and map out development plans for individuals. Before this role I worked as a Support Worker for over 3 years within Support at Home. I have accumulated a lot of experience with my time at Support at Home. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends going on days out and making memories in my free time.

Joan Moriarty

Senior Support Worker

Hi, my name is Joan Moriarty and I am a Senior Support Worker for Support at Home. I have worked for the company for nearly two years, I love my job, I enjoy my time that I spend with our lovely clients that I support. I also enjoy training new staff members so they can give 100% to the care they provide, like I do. I don't really class my work as a job, it's more like helping my new extended family.

Zack Shaw

Business Support Lead

I am Zack, I’m originally from Zimbabwe where I worked as a Farmer and enjoyed playing Polocrosse. During my time in the UK, I have worked in construction and as a sous chef for Jamie Oliver but found my forever place within the care sector. With Support at Home, I really enjoy working in the community and supporting clients and Support Workers. I have enjoyed learning and developing my career. I have gained my NVQ 2 in Health & Social Care and have progressed to my L3. My role with Support at Home is the Business Support Lead where I am responsible for supporting the business with decisions that benefit the clients, support workers and the company. The emergency on call is also part of my role outside opening hours. I enjoy socialising, spending time with my family and problem solving. I am also interested in and enjoy all kinds of animals.

Debbie Edwards

Senior Support Worker

Hi my name is Debbie Edwards. I joined Support at Home recently after previously working on the community and more recently in Care Homes. I have come to Support at Home because I loved working on the community and because I loved the time I could spend with the clients, to give them the care they deserve. I have taken on a senior role at Support at Home to give the same care to our clients and to help support the staff to the best of my ability. Please bear with me while I am learning the new systems, (I will get there as soon as possible) sorry to all the people I've been mithering you know who you are, but thank you for all your support in these trying times.
